Secondhand walk-ins and ice machines can be excellent value or an expensive mistake, and the difference is rarely visible. We test the system under load and tell you what you would actually be buying, before the money changes hands.

Manufacturers want evidence, not descriptions. Documented pressures, temperatures, superheat, subcooling and amp draws give a claim something to stand on, and we provide them in a form you can submit.

What We Measure

System Pressures and Temperatures

Suction and head pressure, superheat and subcooling, plus box, product, supply and return air temperatures. Together these show whether the refrigeration circuit is actually performing or merely running.

Airflow and Coil Condition

Condenser and evaporator cleanliness, fan operation and direction, clearances around the condenser, and anything restricting airflow. This is where most capacity gets lost and it is the cheapest thing to correct.

Defrost and Controls

Defrost initiation and termination, thermostat and controller settings, and whether the programming matches the application. Mis-set controls imitate mechanical faults convincingly.

Cabinet, Doors and Drainage

Panel and insulation condition, door seals, hinges, closers and heaters, plus condensate drains and pans. On older walk-ins the envelope is often in worse shape than the mechanicals.

Leak Detection

Where readings suggest a low charge, we locate the leak rather than report a symptom, because the position and size of a leak is what decides whether a repair is sensible or the system has had its day.

What You Receive

A written report with the actual numbers, what each one means in plain terms, and a clear conclusion: the equipment is performing, it needs specific corrections, or it is at the end of its economic life. Where corrections are needed you get them ranked, separating what affects product safety now from what can be planned.

The report is yours to use, whether that is for a warranty claim, a purchase negotiation, a compliance file, or a second opinion on work somebody else has quoted. We will tell you when the honest answer is that nothing needs doing.
